The Office of the Controller has created two new policies to provide clarity on allowable costs for professional memberships and licenses, certifications, and specialized training.

Georgia Tech has introduced two new policies to clarify allowable costs related to professional memberships and licenses, certifications, and specialized training. The Professional Memberships and Professional Licenses, Certifications and Specialized Training policies outline what types of expenses are permitted and which funds can be used for these purposes.

To help implement these policies, the Office of the Controller has created simple, one-page forms for each policy.

When requesting payment or reimbursement, the appropriate form must be included in the supporting documentation. This is done by submitting the form with the requisition or uploading it with the expense report in Workday. Each form serves to verify that the expense is approved, correctly funded, and aligns with the Institute’s guidelines. This will also help expedite the processing time for payments and reimbursements.

FAQs for each policy are also available to provide clarity on questions regarding payment and reimbursement.
