The mission of the Institute Finance Support team (IFS) is to provide a “one stop shop” for academic, research and administrative units across the institute when central support in the area of financial administration is required. The team coordinates closely with central financial units to provide integrated support across budget, accounting, treasury, and other Finance & Planning functions. IFS also coordinates closely with the EVPR and Provost financial leadership as needed.
IFS Directors coordinate closely with the leadership of academic, research, and administrative units to provide financial strategies, advice, analysis and stewardship support for accounts and funds. In addition, the Directors partner with unit leadership to provide budget planning, execution and administration. The Directors are supported by Partners and financial staff to accomplish these objectives.
In addition, IFS leads, directs, or provides support to short-term or recurring projects that require financial analysis. Current and past projects have included:
- Student fee analysis support
- Financial analysis related to internal reorganizations
- Interim or executive financial staffing support for Georgia Tech's affiliate organizations
- Reviews of business plans associated with new academic programs
